BOMBARD : Safety First

To venture out on the seas, you have to respect the power of mother nature. You can never take her for granted. We at BOMBARD, never have. As long as 40 years ago, when Alain Bombard set out to cross the Atlantic in his inflatable boat, he set a standard from which we have never deviated. Your boating activities may not be of the same magnitude but you may get on the water with a BOMBARD with complete confidence in its strenght, performance and reliability.

Take Your BOMBARD anywhere...

One of the greatest advantages of a BOMBARD is you can take it with you in any size vehicle. You can carry it deflated and folded in its carrying bag or inflated on your roof rack. Ideal for campers and RV's, BOMBARD inflatables and semi-rigids are the only choice for people on the move.Semi-rigid tubes can be deflated or removed (WB) for easier storage.

Get on the water... safe and stable.

Your BOMBARD will get you on the water in minutes. No line ups at the launching ramp for you. From either the roofrack or trunk of your car, your boat can be quickly inflated or prepared for use. BOMBARDS are light and easy to launch. Just slide them into the water from anywhere around the shore. If you ever try to capsize your BOMBARD you will find out how how difficult it is. This is because the large bouyancy tube gives stability and reserves of bouyancy well beyond that of traditional boats, making walking around on board, when stationary, climbing out from the water that much easier. For extra security this bouyancy tube is made up of several seperate airtight chambers to protect against the unexpected.

The know how makes the difference.

We start with better fabrics.
BOMBARD sportsboats are crafted from our own 1100 Decitx fabric (from 3m/9'10") which is significantly tougher than what is used in most other inflatables. It has been perfected to retain its original character even after years and years of prolonged exposure to ozone and the sun's UV rays.
It is particularly airtight and designed for the marine environment. Indisputable proof of it's inherent qualities, the BOMBARD fabric comes with a 5 year manufacture's warranty. (ask Your Bombard dealer for full terms and conditions) .

Then we build boats with virtually indestructible seams, thanks to Thermobonding...
This fuses the fabric together, as well as welding the inner and outer joining strips in a fully-automated heat-fusion process. It totally eliminates the old-fashioned glueing method still used by some manufactures. So it is very reliable. You can tell by the excellent finish.
Internal bulkhead.
Totally sealing one compartment from the other, its conical floating shape equalizes the pressure between them. In case of the unexpected deflation of one compartment, the boat remains unsinkable.

Question of hullshape.
The hullshape of any boat is one of the most important criteria in its design. This is often overlooked by other inflatable manufacturers and the public, with the result being disappointing, wet or even dangerous handling characteristics. At BOMBARD, every single one of our hullshapes is in our Computer Aided Design programs which benefit from the latest marine architectual software to reproduce correct planing ability, effective resistance points, rigidity, comfort and safety.

Bombard is certified by leading marine authorities. All Bombard boats conform to ISO 6185, the rigorous design and technical specifications imposed by the International Organisation for Standardisation, and to the latest European certification n°94 25/CE. As well as that, Bombard is a member of NMMA, the US National Marine Manufacturers Association , and conforms to all the certification and approval requirements of AFNOR, DIN and RINA, which are respectively the French, German and Italian Standards Administrations.
